Wide excision and reconstruction with free vascularized fibula for aggressive giant cell tumor of distal 3rd tibia

چکیده
Giant cell tumor (GCT) at distal end of tibia is relatively a rare site occurrence. We presented our experience with extensive excision and reconstruction for GCT using free vascular double strut/single strut fibula graft. The present case series was conducted on six patients lower who were treated either in index (n=4) or recurrence (n=2) settings. Four male 2 female. mean age 26.5 years. average length bone defect after 7.4 cm. range movement ankle joint up to 70% normal opposite side achieved cases arthrodesis done rest 4 (2 recurrent cases). In treatment, spite difficulty bony due its weight bearing property, vascularized graft has advantages like allows wide tumor, single stage procedure, early capacity young no resorption but thickening.

Wrist Joint Reconstruction With a Vascularized Fibula Free Flap Following Giant Cell Tumor Excision in the Distal Radius
OBJECTIVE Multiple therapeutic modalities exist for giant cell tumors (GCT) in the distal radius. The majority of GCTs are amenable to curettage, with the expanded lesions requiring a more radical approach. This case report examines the technique of managing a GCT that has extended beyond the boundaries of the cortex and into local tissues. The decision to use arthroplasty versus arthrodesis an...
متن کاملHernia mesh prevent dislocation after wide excision and reconstruction of giant cell tumor distal radius
Giant cell tumor (GCT) remains as major health problem. GCT which located at the lower end of the radius tends to be more aggressive. Wide excision and reconstruction of the wrist in stage 3 of distal radius GCT lesion is an optimal modality to prevent tumor recurrence. However, dislocation often occurs as its complication. We are reporting patient with GCT of distal radius treated with wide ex...
متن کاملProsthetic reconstruction for tumours of the distal tibia and fibula.
We have carried out prosthetic reconstruction in six patients with malignant or aggressively benign bone tumours of the distal tibia or fibula. The diagnoses were osteosarcoma in four patients, parosteal osteosarcoma in one and recurrent giant-cell tumour in one. Five tumours were in the distal tibia and one in the distal fibula. The mean duration of follow-up was 5.3 years (2.0 to 7.1). Recons...
متن کاملOsteoarticular allograft reconstruction of the distal radius after giant cell tumor resection
Abstract Background: Resection of the distal end of the radius is indicated in the treatment of locally aggressive primary benign and malignant bone tumors. The aim of this study was to evaluate the technique of osteoarticular allograft reconstruction of the distal radius after wide excision of a giant-cell tumor. Methods: We analyzed 15 patients retrospectively who had reconstruction of t...
